Ministering to university students has been a priority of the Edmond Church of Christ for a long time. We understand how crucial the college years are in faith formation, and we want to do everything we can to help young men and women develop and sustain a faith that will launch them out into their futures. University students have a meaningful role at the Edmond Church of Christ and are viewed as important members of the congregation. We want to be their church "home away from home" while they are working on their education. We want them to be a part of the Edmond Church family. Students from Oklahoma Christian University, the University of Central Oklahoma and other surrounding schools participate in this ministry.
Every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening is an opportunity for students to get together for meaningful times of worship, Bible study and fellowship. Singing is upbeat and meaningful. Bible classes are relevant and biblical.
Time away from home can be difficult. To help support and encourage students (and feed them!) while they are in school, we match students with "adopted" families in the church. These adoptions sometimes lead to lifelong relationships between families and students.
Spring Break Mission Trip
Each year, the campus ministry participates in a huge Spring Break mission trip either to the mountain villages of Central Mexico or to McAllen, TX. They, along with families from the Edmond congregation, conduct daily VBS, work on several service projects in the community, work closely with a Christian school in the area to bless their students and campus, and much more!
Relationships are important to university students. To help build meaningful relationships with each other and with God, the Campus Ministry hosts retreats throughout the year. Students take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to take a break from papers, tests and projects to focus on God and their relationships with Him.
