Campus Ministry

We want to be your church "home away from home" while you're working or working on your education.  Campus ministry members have meaningful roles at the Edmond Church of Christ and are important members of the congregation.

We want you to be a part of the Edmond church family. Other students from Oklahoma Christian University, the University of Central Oklahoma and other surrounding schools (Rose State, Francis Tuttle, OCCC), have joined us in ministry at Edmond.

The Edmond Campus Ministry is a diverse group of Christ-followers dedicated to faith formation during your crucial years as a student or working young adult.

If you are in college, trade school, military and/or in the workforce in your early 20's, consider being part of what God is doing through a dynamic campus ministry at Edmond. For more information, contact Patrick.

What to Expect

Meeting with a church at a new place can be intimidating. Too often it seems almost impossible to know what you're walking into without feeling completely unprepared. We want to share important things with you here so you’ll feel more prepared and more comfortable walking into our building, and less overwhelmed. Regardless of what your expectations are, we'd love to have the chance to meet you.

What to wear: There's no dress code. You'll find a little bit of everything from shorts to suits.

No matter where you are in your faith, the campus ministry is a great place to grow and to explore your relationship with God. Whether you're a skeptic with questions looking for a discussion, a Christian who’s questioning their faith or other things in life, a former Christian looking for a fresh start, a new Christian wanting a strong, supportive community of fellow believers, or a long time follower of Jesus looking for a place to get involved in God's work in the world, we would love to meet you and get to know you.

At the core of the campus ministry is acceptance. We won't expect you to have your life together, if you won't make the same assumption about us.  We want to be a place where you are always welcome and you can belong.

We believe and profess Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as it is central to who we are and the example of how we are called to sacrificially love everyone.

Committing our lives to following Jesus and to obeying God, the Father, also comes with a call to holy living. We would love for you to partner with us in becoming all that God calls us to be.

OUR PEOPLE

At the Edmond Church of Christ and the campus ministry, you will find a diverse group of friendly and welcoming people from all ages and walks of life.  We strive to love each other deeply and consider each other family.  We see relationships with one another as one of the most important aspects of our Christian walk.

OUR COLLEGE BIBLE CLASS

We are a non-denominational church with a heart for students and young adults in our community.  We meet weekly at the Edmond Church of Christ and offer a friendly and culturally diverse family atmosphere. On Sundays, we begin meeting at 9:30 AM in the chapel, and we start with time for coffee, donuts, and visiting.  At 9:45 AM, we begin a time of singing, reading scriptures, bible study, and prayers. Worship with the whole church family begins at 10:40 AM.

OUR WORSHIP

A typical worship service here at the Edmond Church of Christ includes congregational singing led by our Worship Leader, scripture reading, prayer for our community, and a time of teaching from the Bible. Central to our Sunday worship service is our regular participation in the Lord's Supper/Communion. This symbolic meal embodies who we are as followers of Christ.

Community is at the core of who we are as a Church. Congregational singing is an ancient form of worship we hold to, knowing it brings the church together as a community. From Sunday to Sunday, you will find a variety of music genres as we try to encourage one another in song, and worship God with one voice.

COLLEGE ADOPTION

Time away from home can be difficult. To help support and encourage students (and feed them!) while they are in school, we match students with "adopted" families in the church. These adoptions sometimes lead to lifelong relationships between families and students.

SPRING BREAK MISSION TRIP

Each year, the campus ministry participates in a huge Spring Break mission trip to McAllen, TX. We, along with families from the Edmond congregation, conduct daily VBS, work on several service projects in the community, work closely with a Christian school in the area to bless their students and campus, and much more!

RETREATS

Relationships are important to university students. To help build meaningful relationships with each other and with God, the Campus Ministry hosts retreats throughout the year. Students take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to take a break from papers, tests and projects to focus on God and their relationships with Him.
