  • Karli anthony / support staff

    Karli began her role as administrative assistant in January 2020, after earning a degree in Family Life Education: Marriage & Family from the University of Central Oklahoma. She embraces her role in the church office with enthusiasm and optimism as she answers the phone, greets guests, and assists with worship service logistics. In her free time, Karli enjoys baking, cooking, organizing, watching movies, shopping, hanging out with friends, and wearing her favorite pair of Chacos. 

  • Evan burkett / campus minister

    As Campus Minister since 2007, Evan works to reach college-aged adults—often associated with Oklahoma Christian University, the University of Central Oklahoma and other area colleges and vocational schools—with the message and love of Jesus. Evan earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from OC and worked as a vocational missionary in Japan for two years and then transitioned from a 14-year career in the insurance industry to begin full-time ministry at Edmond. He and his wife, Rachel, have two children, Levi and Canaan. Evan enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling with his family, and is a Chick-fil-A aficionado.

  • JC Curtis / graphic designer (part-time)

    JC first came to the Edmond church as a college student in 1998 and met his wife, Courtney, on a Campus Ministry mission trip to Mexico. He graduated with a degree in Advertising & Graphic Design from OC and worked as one of the university’s designers for 13 years. JC then launched out in faith and started his own design business. Simultaneously, God provided an opportunity for him to use his talents in a part-time role at church. In this role, JC creates graphics and design systems to support the church ministries and staff. He and Courtney have two wonderful children, and JC enjoys golfing, running, and kayaking, but he can often be found in front of his computer working on the “next thing.”

  • john frias / youth minister

    John Frias joined the ministry team at Edmond prior to the summer of 2016.  After serving as the graduate assistant in youth ministry for two years, John's ministry expanded to a full-time role as youth minister in February 2019. In this role, John works alongside Jeremy, youth deacons & parents to minister to students in 7th-12th grades. John and his wife Marci were an active part of our campus and young adult ministry, and each served as interns with the Edmond Church of Christ during their college years at Oklahoma Christian where he earned a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Masters of Divinity (MDiv). John is passionate about his faith and excited to help teens grow in their faith. He enjoys watching movies, rooting for the San Antonio Spurs, and hanging out with his wife (not in that order!).

  • brenda gordon / children's ministry director

    Brenda and her husband, Sylvan, have been members of the Edmond congregation for over 40 years. With a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from OC, Brenda taught for 21 years in the public school system. In 2003, God led her to full-time children’s ministry and education at the Edmond Church. In this role, Brenda provides opportunities for children in nursery through 6th grade to develop knowledge and a relationship with God while also creating opportunities for intergenerational involvement and outreach to the community. Providing resources to parents who want to nurture spiritual development in their children is also an important part of Brenda's ministry. She and Sylvan have two grown daughters, LeAnna (Cody) and Audrey (Kevin) and grandchildren Kodi, Conner, and Ben. Brenda enjoys crafts, traveling, and spending time with family, and she makes an amazing snickerdoodle cookie!


  • jake higginbottom / facilities care manager assistant

    As an active part of our campus ministry, Jake began working with us in 2017 as an intern. He plans to finish his degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma Christian in the spring of 2021. Jake does general maintenance, new projects and construction, helping keep our campus functional and beautiful. Originally from Paul’s Valley, OK, Jake enjoys connecting with Edmond church members by working on various projects. Jake is married to Taegan, and he enjoys camping, hunting, shooting and knife making.

  • taegan higginbottom / Admin. Assistant bookkeeper (part-time)

    Taegan joined the support staff in a part-time role as Administrative Assistant Bookkeeper in January 2021. She came to the Edmond church as a college freshman at OC in 2017, and plans to graduate in early May this year with a degree in Business Management. She is excited for the opportunity to serve and become more acquainted with a broader cross section of the congregation. She and her husband, Jake, are active in the Catalyst class.

  • david laxton / facilities care manager

    After serving 30 years with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, David decided to retire in 2013, and God led him to start a new chapter in his life by working full-time with the Edmond Church as facilities care manager. David oversees all facility and grounds maintenance and upkeep and directs special projects associated with the church campus. David and his wife, Cathy, have five grown children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and five wonderful grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys golf and other outdoor activities.

  • audrey mauck / missions coordinator

    Audrey joined the support staff as the missions coordinator in July of 2013. God has been preparing Audrey for working in missions since high school after going on mission trips to Europe and Central America since 1991. Since 2005, she and her husband, Kyle, have been planning the annual Edmond church mission trip to Nicaragua. They are class leaders in the Young Families class where they have attended since 1993. Audrey enjoys traveling and spending time with her family including their two teenagers.

  • Shawn Mcelroy / young adults minister

    Shawn joined the ministry staff at Edmond in the fall of 2015. His areas of ministry include young adults, counseling, inter-generational ministry and outreach. Prior to entering full-time ministry, Shawn worked as a therapist, providing counseling and guidance to a diverse population of clients. Shawn earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Christian and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from UCO in 2006. He and his wife, Liz, have two children, Ivy and Elijah. Shawn and Liz came to Edmond from the Britton Road Church of Christ in OKC where they were active in several ministries. At home, they spend their time doing house projects, outdoor activities, reading, and keeping up with the little ones.

  • katie rayner / support staff

    Katie began working in the church office in 2013 and works mainly with attendance/visitor records, minister support, special seminars/classes and projects such as mailings, publications, Christmas Wish program and many more. Before moving back to Oklahoma, Katie and her husband, Kevin, and their two sons, Dustin and Patrick, served as church planters and domestic missionaries for 26 years in Fond du Lac, WI and Rochester, MN. In her spare time, Katie enjoys quilting, paper crafts, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

  • kevin rayner / community & seniors minister

    After 26 years as a church planter and domestic missionary in Fond du Lac, WI and Rochester, MN, Kevin and his family moved back to Oklahoma. Kevin preached for the Tecumseh, OK, congregation for six years and then joined the Edmond ministry staff in 2012. In his unique role at Edmond, Kevin provides leadership in church-wide outreach efforts, guests relations and ministry to senior adults. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SWOSU and is a graduate of Harding University’s Center for Advanced Ministry Training. Kevin and Katie have two sons, Dustin and Patrick, who also attend Edmond along with their families. Kevin’s interests include his family, worship music, humor, sports, computers, social media and exercising.

  • michael reese / Assistant administrator

    Michael left the oil and gas industry, and in the beginning of 2021, came on board at the Edmond church as Assistant Administrator. In this role, he works with the church’s finances and helps facilitate work on the building and grounds. Michael has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Accounting from OC, and his previous work experience is in banking and oil and gas. He is active as a class leader in the Pathfinders class and enjoys going on mission trips with the Campus Ministry. In his free time, Michael enjoys sports, going to the lake and watching OU football.

  • kent risley / executive minister

    Kent, a graduate of Oklahoma Christian, has served as a minister at Edmond since 1987, including work as the campus minister and associate minister. He now helps coordinate our ministerial team while preaching and assisting with the implementation of our many ministry opportunities. Kent and his wife, Brenda, have three grown children, Caleb, Sarah and Hannah and a son-in-law, Tracy, married to Sarah.  Kent and Brenda love to dote over their two grandchildren. Kent also enjoys reading, working in the yard and spending time with family.

  • jeremy robertson / youth & family minister

    After completing two internships with the Edmond Church (youth & college), Jeremy joined the ministry staff at Edmond in a full-time position in May 2010. Jeremy graduated from Oklahoma Christian with a bachelor's degree in Ministry/Bible and a master’s degree in Family Life Ministry from OC. As youth & family minster, Jeremy partners with parents in intentionally discipling students with the goal of faith ownership while also helping provide family-based resources such as Financial Peace University, marriage classes, Griefshare, etc. He and his wife, Ashley, have two sons, Judah and Ryder. Jeremy enjoys golf and watching OU football and OKC Thunder…and one more thing, he has "mad" shuffleboard skills!

  • randy roper / preaching minister

    Randy began serving the Edmond Church in 1994 as the youth minister, and in 2000 transitioned into the role of family minister. In 2011, Randy transitioned again--this time to preaching minister. In his current role, he coordinates the preaching schedule, preaches regularly and is involved in staff leadership and strategic planning for the congregation. Randy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, a Master's degree in Family Ministry from Oklahoma Christian, and a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Oklahoma. Randy enjoys golf, OU sports and camping. Randy and his wife, Kerianne, conduct marriage seminars for churches. If interested, click here for a downloadable flyer.

  • Tony sepulveda / spanish-speaking minister

    Jose Otoniel Sepulveda, “Tony”, came to Edmond in May of 2012 to work full time with our Spanish Speaking Ministry. Tony became a Christian in Dodge City, Kansas in 1995 and then studied at the South Texas Preaching School. He worked for a Spanish speaking congregation in Pharr, TX, before going to work for Chandler Road church of Christ in Muskogee, OK, where he served until coming to Edmond. While in Muskogee he served as Chaplin for the Muskogee Police Department. He and his wife, Norma, have three children. 

  • john trotter / administrator

    John works in the church office in the role of finance and facility administration. Primarily, John develops and maintains systems to assist the congregation with stewardship of God’s physical and financial blessings. Before joining the staff at Edmond in 2005, John worked for 32 years in various positions in the telecommunications industry. John holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business. He and his wife, Vickie, are very involved with young professionals, campus ministry and mission work in Mexico. They have two grown children and five grandchildren. 

  • danielle waldo / support staff

    In 2008, Danielle began working in the church office. While the support staff at Edmond works together on many projects, Danielle works in the specific areas of bulletin, publications, worship coordination, record-keeping, phone reception and several others. Danielle and her husband, David, are also very involved in Edmond’s Spanish-speaking ministry, providing leadership and support in all aspects of this growing ministry. The Waldos have two children, Alex and Hayley (with son-in-law Tanner). Danielle enjoys cooking, crafts and traveling.
